Do you like word games? Then you will love it Scrabble ! Scrabble is a classic board game that has been around for over 70 years. The goal of the game is to score the most points by forming words with the letters on the board. But don’t worry, it’s not as complicated as it looks! In this beginner’s guide, we’ll show you how to play Scrabble so you can start winning those games in no time.
How to set up the game?
To set up the game you will need a board of Scrabble, 100 letter tiles and 4 tile supports. First, mix the letters and put them in the bag. Mix them so that they are well combined. Next, have each player draw 7 tiles from the bag and place them on their rack where only they can see them. The remaining tiles are returned to the bag
Now it’s time to choose who will be the first to play. The simplest way to do this is to have each player draw a tile from the bag and the one with the tile with the highest point value goes first. If two or more players have a tile with the same value, have them draw again until there is a clear winner.
We will see later what these point values are. For now, let’s just say that A is worth 1 point, B is worth 3 points, and C is worth 3 points. So in this case, player 1 will be first because he drew an A which is worth 1 point. Player 2 is second because he drew a B which is worth 3 points. And player 3 would be last because he drew a C which has a value of 3 points. Now that we know who will be first, let’s get to the game!
How does the game go?
The person who goes first starts by creating a word with their 7 letters on any red square on the board (we will explain what they are for later). He can make his word horizontally or vertically, but not diagonally. Once they have placed their word on the board, they count their points and move on to another round. Play then passes clockwise around the table until all 4 players have had their turn.’
