Have you ever been bored and had nothing to do? Well, I have the perfect solution for you! Playing solitaire is a great way to pass the time and it can be quite addictive. And the best part is, all you need is a deck of cards! In this blog post, I will show you how to play the classic card game, solitaire.
Objective of the game
The aim of the game is to move all the cards from the tableau to the foundation. The foundation is built in ascending order of suits, from Ace to King
Set up
To begin, shuffle the deck of cards and deal 28 cards in a tableau according to the following layout
- 7 cards in the first column
- 6 cards in the second column
- 5 cards in each of the other columns
Set aside the rest of the cards; they will be used later
Remarks
- Only one card can be moved at a time
- The cards must be moved in order from ace to king. For example, if a 3 is on top of a 4, they can be moved together as a group since they are both part of a series. However, you cannot move a 4 on top of a 3 because that would go against the sequential order.
Moving cards
Board stacks are built down in sequential order, regardless of color. For example, a jack can be placed on top of a queen or a 10, as long as they are different colors. Aces are low cards and can be placed on top of 2s. An empty place in a tableau can be filled by any packed card or sequence. Sequences can only be moved as a unit; individual cards cannot be moved within sequences. Reserve cards can also only fill empty spaces in the tableaus; they cannot be superimposed on other cards or sequences already placed in the tables. The game is won when all 52 cards have been transferred from the tables to the foundations!
